A perennial favourite at the JUNO Awards, James has earned another JUNO nod this year. Announced at a press conference today, his Mendelssohn CD is nominated in the category of Classical Album of the Year: Large Ensemble or Soloist(s) with Large Ensemble Accompaniment. The JUNO Awards will be handed out at ceremonies in Toronto March 26 & 27.

Today, Gov. Gen. David Johnston made James Ehnes a Member of the Order of Canada during a ceremony in Ottawa. He is recognized "as one of the finest concert violinists of his generation." and his citation continues: "An ambassador of the arts, he instills pride in Canadians by showcasing our nation’s talent abroad and is a source of inspiration to many of our future classical musicians."
